Things I need to look for in a restoration shop

1. Shop owner:             How does the owner treat you?

Does the owner want to take on your project with your enthusiasm?

Is the owner easy to contact?

2. Employees:              Are they happy with their jobs?

Do they enjoy working on old cars?

Are they qualified in their part of the build?

3. Quality of work:       Is the quality what you are looking for?

                                                        Ask for pictures or referrals

4. Payment plans:         How will your payments be scheduled?

Is there any variations in payment schedules to fit your budget?

5. Contact schedule:     Will the owner contact you or do you have to contact the owner?

6. Communication:       Communication is the key to success in any build, small or large.

How will you know what is being done to your vehicle from week to week?

If you can't keep your contact or payment schedule, let the owner know asap.

These are only a few things to consider while shopping for a great repair shop to restore or modify your vehicle.  You are the one paying the bill so make sure you are getting what you pay for.  Shop owners are people too, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
